Please email us no later than January 24, 2023 of your interest in becoming a candidate for our upcoming board of director elections.
Our organization's bylaws require that board candidates be a PSO member at least 30 days before the Annual General Meeting (AGM) being held on February 27, 2023.
Nomination Form for Board of Directors 2022/23
Eligibility Requirements:

Be at least 18 years old
-
Not have been declared incapable by a court in Canada or in another country
-
Be an individual (i.e. a corporation cannot be a Director)

Not be in bankrupt status: and
-
Be a member of PSO in good standing for a period of at least 30 days

Lived experience with mental health challenges and recovery, either as an individual or family member
-
Being committed to our vision, mission, and values; principles of diversity, equity and inclusion; consensus building; and our Board Code of Conduct Policy
General Information:

Term of office is two (2) years. A Director may serve on the Board for a shorter period if they were selected to complete another’s term

Monthly meetings (occasionally two, as necessary) plus committee meetings/work as necessary

Being a Director is a volunteer position without monetary compensation
Basic Responsibilities

Carrying out the organization's mission and goals
-
Planning and setting priorities
-
Supporting the senior staff person (Executive Director)
-
Financial monitoring, and ensuring adequate resources and managing them for the organization
-
Taking part in working groups as needed
-
We provide a training session for newly elected board members
